The accused have been identified as Mahesh Kumar (28), a resident of Khamrala village in Mandi district, and Manorama Devi (34), a resident of Jhamyat village in Hamirpur district. A police team had set up a naka near Gharat Nala in Sunni for checking and it stopped a car coming from Shimla in which the duo was travelling. The police seized the contraband hidden in the car during checking and arrested the accused.
Shimla SSP Gaurav Singh said that a case under Section 21 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act-1985 had been registered against the accused at the Sunni police station and an investigation had been launched.
