The championship is scheduled to be held in Srinagar from May 4 to 9 and will witness participation from universities across the country. Representing SPU Mandi at the national-level event, the teams are expected to showcase their skills, discipline and competitive spirit.
In his message, Prof Awasthi expressed confidence in the abilities of the players and said they would uphold the sporting legacy of the university. He emphasised the importance of dedication, discipline and sportsmanship, urging them to represent the university with pride and integrity.
Prof Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Sport Director, said the championship marked the final inter-university sporting event for the academic session 2025-26. He said SPU Mandi had participated in 37 inter-university events during the session, reflecting the institution’s commitment to promoting sports culture and ensuring the holistic development of students.
The Wushu teams will be accompanied by team managers Dr Nirmal Singh and Er Aman Chauhan, who will guide and support the players during the championship.
