According to information, eight-year-old Ayan and his nine-year-old elder brother Abhinav had gone to a nearby forest area to graze goats and cattle. While spending time near a flowing khad, the two children reportedly began playing close to the water and accidentally slipped into the stream, leading to their drowning.
The tragedy came to light when the children failed to return home for several hours. Worried family members, along with local residents, launched a search operation in the surrounding area. After an extensive search, villagers found both children trapped inside the stream and pulled them out with the help of locals. However, both had already succumbed by then.
Sources said that Abhinav was speech and hearing impaired. The death of the two young brothers from the same family has left the entire village in deep mourning, while the bereaved family is said to be inconsolable.
On receiving information, a police team reached the spot and initiated legal formalities. The bodies were later sent to Rajgarh hospital for postmortem examination.
Confirming the incident, the Sangrah SDM said immediate relief assistance had been ordered for the affected family and urged people to remain cautious near rivers, streams and khads during the rainy season.
