Providing details, Mandi District Employment Officer Arvind Singh Chauhan said the scheme had been launched to connect unemployed youth with sustainable livelihood opportunities while supporting the state’s vision of green and clean transportation. Under the scheme, eligible beneficiaries would receive a subsidy of up to 50 per cent of the vehicle cost for the purchase of an electric taxi (e-taxi).He said the initiative was designed to create long-term self-employment opportunities for unemployed youth, contribute to environmental conservation and strengthen the participation of young people in building a greener Himachal Pradesh.According to the prescribed eligibility conditions, applicants must be a permanent resident of Himachal Pradesh. They must be between 23 and 45 years of age and possess a valid commercial driving licence.
The applicant must also be registered with any Employment Exchange in Himachal Pradesh for at least one year and have an annual family income of less than Rs 3 lakh.Interested candidates can submit their applications online through the Transport Department’s dedicated portal along with the required documents.
