According to those involved, the police were informed repeatedly but allegedly expressed their inability to reach the spot immediately, citing a shortage of manpower and the non-availability of vehicles. The complainants alleged that police reached the scene nearly one-and-a-half hours later, following the intervention of the Inspector General of Police in Shimla.In a separate case reported earlier this week, tourists allegedly assaulted a local shopkeeper in Bir after an argument.
