Shimla cops nab two key interstate drug suppliers

The accused have been identified as Thomas Masih (29), a resident of Kala Afghana village in Gurdaspur district of Punjab, and Golu (29), a resident of Dadumajra in Chandigarh.

Providing details, Shimla Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh said the police had initially arrested two accused, Pinku Ram and Sunil Puharta, with 53 grams of heroin in Rohru on March 26. Following the arrest, police launched a detailed investigation into the supply chain behind the contraband.

During interrogation and analysis of digital evidence, including bank transactions and phone records, investigators found that Pinku had allegedly been procuring heroin from Salman Haider, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, who had been involved in supplying chitta in the Rohru region for a long period.

Acting on the leads, a police team was sent to Uttar Pradesh and Salman was arrested from Bijnor on April 12, 2026. Further investigation revealed that Salman was receiving the drugs through Thomas Masih and both were involved in financial transactions linked to the drug trade. Based on these findings, another police team was dispatched to Gurdaspur, where Thomas was arrested.

In another case registered on March 29, the police had arrested Ramanjeet Singh and Rubal Chauhan from Kotkhai with six grams of crystal meth, two grams of heroin, a pistol, two gas-cylinder pistols and a knife.
