While appreciating the initiative of the District Red Cross Society and the donors, Dr RK Puthir said that blood donation is a noble act of charity with the power to save precious human lives. He added that blood is always in short supply in blood banks and such camps should be organized regularly. He also honoured the donors with certificates and caps, while the Red Cross Society provided juice and fruits to the participants.
Gandharva Rathore, Deputy Commissioner and Chairperson of the District Red Cross Society, said that efforts are being made to enroll as many people as possible in the Red Cross Society in District Hamirpur, so that contributions received from members can be used to provide maximum assistance to the needy and underprivileged.
Officials and employees from the Home Guards, police, various branches of the Deputy Commissioner’s office and other government departments, along with students from Polytechnic College, Institute of Hotel Management, Himachal Pradesh Technical University, and other educational institutions, voluntarily donated blood at the camp.
Vinay Kumar, Commandant of Home Guards, Lavkesh Sharma, Secretary of the District Red Cross Society and other officials were also present on the occasion.
