SSP, Shimla, Gaurav Singh said that an investigation revealed that Sukh Pal was in contact with Gurjeet Singh and they also had a history of financial transactions. He added that Sukh Pal was presented in a local court, which sent him to police custody until April 25.
In another case, the police arrested three individuals with 3.58 grams of heroin at Rohru in Shimla district. The accused have been identified as Virender Singh (31) and Krishan Kant (32), both residents of Dodra village in Shimla district, and Akshay Kumar (32), a resident of Pandar village in Shimla district.
Acting on a tip-off that several individuals were present in the Samoli area of Rohru, a police team arrested the accused and seized the contraband from their room. A case under Section 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act was registered against them and an investigation was initiated.
In the third case, the district police arrested a habitual offender under the Prevention of Illicit Trafficking NDPS Act (PIT NDPS) at Basantpur, about 12 km from Shimla. The accused has been identified as Khemraj, alias Sunny Walia (40), a resident of Basantpur, Shimla.
Sunny was involved in drug peddling for a very long time and multiple cases under the NDPS Act were registered against him.
The SSP said that Khemraj was first booked under the NDPS Act at Sunni in Shimla district on October 13, 2023, and again on October 26 and December 5 in 2024, and on August 30, 2025, in Shimla. “He was also booked for an unauthorised entry into a house, assault, damage to property and criminal intimidation in Shimla on May 9, 2015. Keeping in view his continuous involvement in drug trafficking, the police arrested him and lodged him in the Model Central Jail at Kanda,” he added.
