Prithi Pal said since the Una MC had been constituted about a year ago after the merger of 13 surrounding panchayats into the existing municipal committee, the new areas would require additional funding for works such as streetlights, drains and other civic amenities.
The commissioner said a balanced and planned development of the city would be undertaken with the cooperation of all residents. He said the administration’s priority would be to ensure free and fair elections for the urban local body which was set to be held very soon.
