Yadav said that the primary objective of the administration was to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections. He directed the officials concerned to keep a close watch on sensitive and highly sensitive wards and make adequate security arrangements there. He instructed the sector officers to immediately identify and remove any technical or physical shortcomings at polling stations. They were also told to report issues to the higher authorities without delay so that no disruption occurs on the polling day.
Fourteen important points related to election management, including ensuring uninterrupted electricity and water supply in all polling booths, availability of ramps for physically challenged voters, sanitation and other essential civic facilities, were discussed at the meeting.
Yadav asked the officers to personally inspect polling booths in their sectors and verify that all arrangements were in place well before the election day. He said voters must not face any inconvenience while exercising their right to franchise.
The SDM made it clear that negligence in election duty would not be tolerated. All nodal officers were directed to submit their reports on time and remain fully prepared for any contingency.
