With 13 cases registered so far, Sirmaur district emerged as the most vulnerable district for minors in the state. Notably, the district had recorded no such case during the first quarter of 2025.
Chamba reported seven cases, followed by Kullu with six, Shimla five, Kangra and Police District Baddi four each and Bilaspur three. Solan, Hamirpur, Una and Police District Nurpur reported two cases each, while Police District Dehra recorded one case.

The state has also witnessed an increase in molestation cases involving minors. Five such cases were reported during the first quarter of 2026, whereas no such cases had been recorded during the same period last year. Chamba reported the highest number with two cases, while Kullu, Kangra and Sirmaur reported one case each.
A senior police officer said such cases were being handled with sensitivity and strictness and prompt action was being ensured against the accused. He added that awareness campaigns were regularly being conducted in educational institutions to sensitise students about such crimes and legal protections available under the POCSO Act.
