Opposition to Nari Shakti Bill reflects Cong’s anti-women mindset, says BJP

Kamlesh, while speaking to mediapersons, said political parties that claimed to advocate for women’s rights, dignity and participation had now revealed their true character. She alleged that the Congress and its allies were merely engaged in vote-bank politics and had never been genuinely committed to empowering women. She asserted that the BJP had remained dedicated to women’s empowerment. “Under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, the Central Government has undertaken several historic initiatives to strengthen women socially, politically, and economically,” she claimed.

Kamlesh said that the Nari Shakti Vandan Bill was a significant and transformative step in this direction and would elevate women’s participation in the democratic system. She added that the stance of the Congress and its allies clearly indicated their reluctance to ensure equal rights for women. Despite being in power for a long time, the Congress, she alleged, had treated women’s reservation merely as an electoral issue and lacked the courage to implement it. Now that the BJP government had taken concrete steps, the Congress was resisting it.

District Mahila Morcha president Archana Chauhan said that the BJP had always prioritised the upliftment of women. The initiatives taken under the Prime Minister’’s leadership had created opportunities for women to progress in every field. She added that the Nari Shakti Vandan Bill was an extension of this vision, ensuring stronger participation of women in decision-making processes.
