The seized machinery has been impounded and a challan submitted before the court for further legal proceedings and imposition of penalties.
In a parallel action, the Indora police also compounded three tractor-trailers near Arni University after they were found extracting minerals from Indora khud. Each vehicle owner was fined Rs 5,000 on the spot.
The enforcement drive extended to Fatehpur, where police challaned a tractor engaged in illegal mining at Mand Raitpur, imposing a penalty of Rs 4,700. Similarly, the Nurpur police fined another tractor-trailer Rs 4,700 after intercepting it in Nurpur market with illegally extracted minerals.
The SP said heavy machinery and transport vehicles involved in illegal mining would be impounded and challaned through judicial courts, while tractor-trailers would be compounded and penalised by the police. He added that the anti-illegal mining campaign will continue across all police stations in the Nurpur district to ensure strict enforcement of the law.
