The deceased were identified as Aakriti (16) and her father Kundan Lal (49). The injured have been identified as Arab (12), son of Kundan Lal and Satpal (55). All are residents of Lauhati village in Nankhari area of Shimla district.
According to police, the accident occurred when the victims were returning to their village and the driver, Satpal, allegedly lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle then skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge. Aakriti and Kundan Lal died on the spot, while the other two occupants sustained serious injuries.
Police rushed to the spot after receiving information about the mishap and launched a rescue operation. The injured were taken to Civil Hospital, Nankhari, and later referred to Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital for advanced treatment. The bodies of the deceased were also recovered from the gorge.
