The visiting team will include Second-in-Command RS Pathania, a resident of Himachal Pradesh, who is at present associated with welfare programmes for Assam Rifles ex-servicemen at the Directorate General. His presence is expected to help facilitate discussions and provide assistance to local veterans and their families.
According to a press note issued here on Thursday, the main programme will be organised at Hotel Justa at Bindraban, Palampur. Ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and their dependents have been requested to attend the programme in large numbers. The participants will have an opportunity to place their grievances, suggestions and pending matters directly before the Director General, Assam Rifles.
The advance team of Assam Rifles will hold interactions with veterans and make every possible effort to resolve genuine issues on the spot. Matters requiring higher-level intervention or policy decisions will be forwarded to the Directorate General for further action.
The outreach programme is being organised under the aegis of ARESA Kangra, which has been actively working for the welfare of Assam Rifles veterans and their families in the region. The representatives of the association said that such interactions provide an important platform for retired personnel to raise service-related, pension, medical and welfare matters with senior officers.
The organisers have appealed to all eligible beneficiaries to attend the programme and take advantage of the opportunity to directly interact with senior officers of the force.
