Since Shri Renukaji is considered a place of deep religious faith and liquor consumption is strictly prohibited there, the incident made devotees and local residents angry.
A case of hurting religious sentiments was registered at the the Renukaji police station and an investigation was launched. The police stated that strict legal action would be taken against anyone found involved in activities that hurt religious sentiments in this sacred place.
