KfW bank team reviews progress of ecological restoration initiatives

The delegation inspected field activities at multiple locations and held interactions with local community groups, including members of the Village Forest Management Society at Bhated and the Laxmi Chandua Self-Help Group. These engagements offered the team first-hand insights into community-driven conservation efforts, sustainable livelihood support and visible improvement in the green cover in the region.

Impressed by the quality of work and the active participation of the local stakeholders, the KfW Development Bank representatives praised the dedication of self-help groups and forest officials in transforming degraded patches into thriving green landscapes. They said that such community ownership was vital for ensuring the long-term success of ecological restoration programmes.

The delegation also focused on evaluating the potential for launching a second phase of the KfW forestry project. Encouraged by the current outcomes, the team expressed optimism about scaling up initiatives that strengthen climate resilience, enhance biodiversity and empower communities through sustainable natural resource management.
