The CMO said that the camps would focus on screening common lifestyle and respiratory diseases. Residents would be provided facilities for blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar (diabetes) testing and chest X-rays at the camps. The aim of these services was to ensure an early detection of illnesses and timely medical intervention.
Dr Karol said that such camps played a crucial role in identifying undiagnosed cases of hypertension, diabetes and lung-related conditions, which often go unnoticed until complications arise. By bringing diagnostic services closer to communities, the Health Department seeks to reduce burden on hospitals and encourage preventive healthcare practices.
Dr Karol said that the camps would cover multiple health blocks in the district, ensuring a wide outreach and participation. Medical teams comprising doctors, paramedical staff and technicians would be deployed at each site to provide quality healthcare services, he added.
The CMO said that regular health check-up was essential for maintaining good health and preventing serious diseases. He encouraged local residents to visit the nearest camp during the scheduled period and avail themselves of free medical services.
