Industry-linked training benefits over 4,000 govt school students

For the first time, Samagra Shiksha is providing students with high-level hands-on exposure and industry-based training in prestigious institutions outside Himachal Pradesh. Through this initiative, the students are becoming familiar not only with school education but also with real work environments, modern technologies and industrial operations.

“The programme is not limiting vocational students to theoretical education but is connecting them with real work culture and practical experience so they can be better prepared for future employment opportunities,” said Rajesh Sharma, Director, Samagra Shiksha. He added that the initiative was introducing students to employment-oriented skills and practical exposure along with theoretical knowledge.

At present, Samagra Shiksha is providing training to 922 students in the healthcare sector at PGI-Chandigarh, 713 students in IT-ITeS, 672 in tourism and hospitality, 435 in telecom, 391 in agriculture, 326 in retail, 215 in automotive, 183 in private security, 126 in BFSI (banking, financial services & insurance), 109 in plumbing, 92 in apparel, 79 in beauty and wellness, 78 in electronics, 40 in physical education and 35 in food processing.

The Director further said that students were being trained in reputed companies and institutions according to their respective trades.
