The programme was inaugurated virtually by Union MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on May 8. It featured a series of sessions, including “MSME Samvad”, which focused on understanding the current MSME landscape in India and addressing key challenges such as market access, technology adoption and financial sustainability.
A panel discussion involving MSME stakeholders deliberated on policy measures, regulatory reforms and strategies to improve MSMEs’ access to markets, technology and finance.
Another session on aligning business forms with central government regulations and incentives guided MSMEs on selecting appropriate business structures, ensuring compliance and leveraging government schemes for sustainable growth and operational efficiency.
The programme also included a hands-on session on Management Development Programmes (MDP) and Skill Development Programmes (SDP) aimed at enhancing entrepreneurial capabilities, managerial effectiveness and innovation within MSMEs.
In addition, a technical session on strengthening MSME financing through effective project evaluation provided practical insights into project assessment methods, enabling MSMEs to improve access to credit and investment for long-term business growth.
An ICAI spokesperson said the MSME Manthan Meet served as a collaborative platform for government officials, financial institutions and ecosystem partners, including NSIC, GeM, KVIC, Laghu Udyog Bharati and industry associations, to deliberate on key issues impacting MSMEs and explore policy-driven solutions for strengthening the sector.
“Amid the rapid growth of MSMEs and startups, along with evolving tariff structures and changing economic conditions, the two-day meet was designed to equip stakeholders with practical knowledge, strategic insights and actionable guidance on growth, compliance, innovation and navigating the dynamic business environment,” the spokesperson said.
