- Qualifying exam documents: mark sheets and the passing certificate for the exam that makes you eligible for the course you are applying to. Keep both the original and a clear scan or photocopy.
- Class 10 certificate, usually used to verify your name, date of birth and parentage. If your name is spelled differently across papers, sort that out before you fill the form.
- Class 12 mark sheet and certificate, where the course you want requires it.
- Graduation or postgraduate mark sheets and degree certificate, if you are applying to a higher course.
- Category or reservation certificate, if you are claiming a reserved category. Check the prospectus for which authority's format is accepted and how recent it must be.
- Himachal bonafide or domicile certificate, if the prospectus links any seat, fee or weightage to it.
- Income certificate, if a fee concession or scholarship is tied to family income.
- Recent passport-size photographs in the size and background the form asks for. Keep a few extra.
- Photo ID such as Aadhaar, and a signature scan if the online form asks for one.
- Migration or transfer certificate, character certificate, and gap-year affidavit or undertaking, if the prospectus lists them for your course.
- For reserved or special categories, any certificate the prospectus names, such as a disability certificate or an ex-serviceman or ward certificate.
- Keep a working mobile number and email address through the whole process. Most updates, correction windows and counselling calls come there.
- Before you pay or submit, re-read the prospectus for your year and confirm the document list, the fee, the last date and the submission steps on the official website. Do not rely on forwarded lists or coaching-centre handouts.
