Himachal to witness snow, rain from April 24; yellow alert issued

The department has also issued a yellow weather warning for Kullu, Kangra and Chamba districts for April 24, resulting in heavy thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds. The department has forecasted snowfall and rain in higher hills of the state for April 24 and 26, while it has forecasted heavy precipitation across the state for April 25, 28 and 29, with precipitation in middle and higher hills on April 27. However, there will be no changes in minimum and maximum temperatures across the state during this period.

Meanwhile, weather was mostly dry across the state during the past 24 hours, with most places in the state witnessing a bright sunny day. Minimum temperatures were 2°C to 4°C above normal, ranging between 5°C to 22°C while maximum temperatures were 2°C to 7°C, ranging between 19°C to 40°C.

Maximum temperature in Shimla was 27.2°C, Dharamshala 33°C, Manali 26.8°C, Kangra 36.4°C, Mandi 35°C, Solan 33°C, Tabo 17.9°C, Sundernagar 35.8°C, Nahan 34.9°C, Bhuntar 33.4°C and Kalpa 24.6°C.

The highest maximum temperature in the state was 40°C, which was recorded in Una while the lowest minimum temperature was 5.1°C, which was recorded in Kukumseri village in Lahaul and Spiti district.
