Himachal Pradesh witnesses 13 per cent deficit rain in pre-monsoon season; Bilaspur has emerged as wettest district

Una emerged as the second wettest district as it recorded 171.4 mm rain against 102.7 mm. Similarly, Solan recorded 53 per cent surplus rain as it received 220.6 mm rain against 144.3 mm, Sirmour recorded 46 percent surplus rain as it received 184.3 mm against 126.1 mm, Shimla recorded 42 per cent surplus rain as it recorded 291.5 mm rain against 205.2 mm, Hamirpur recorded 33 per cent surplus rain as it received 173.6 mm against 130.3 mm, Mandi recorded 32 per cent as it received 253.4 mm against 192.4 mm and Kangra recorded 16 per cent as it received 219.8 mm against 189 mm.

Kullu was the only district which received normal rain as it received 283.7 mm against 283.6 mm normal.

Apart from this, Chamba recorded 30 per cent deficit rain as it received 257.5 mm against 368.8 mm while Lahaul and Spiti recorded 45 per cent rainfall deficit as it received 153.6 mm rain against 279 mm. Tribal district Kinnaur emerged as the driest district during the season as it recorded a 47 per cent rainfall deficit. Kinnaur had received 131.6 mm rain against 249.4 mm.

The centre has also predicted continuous rainfall across the state till June 8. Yellow weather warnings have also been issued for several districts of the state from June 3 to June 6, resulting in a few spells of heavy thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds in isolated places of the state.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rain was observed in many parts of the state during the past 24 hours. While minimum temperatures across the state were normal in the past 24 hours, maximum temperatures were 2°C to 7°C above normal. Maximum temperature in Shimla was 25°C, Dharamshala 31°C, Kangra 34.6°C, Solan 31.5°C, Mandi 35°C, Sundernagar 34.7°C, Kufri 19.5°C, Kalpa 21.4°C, Nahan 33.2°C, Keylong 22°C, Chamba 31.7°C and Bhuntar 34.2°C.

The highest maximum temperature in the state was 37°C, which was recorded in Una, while the lowest minimum temperature in the state was 4.9°C, which was recorded in Kukumseri in Lahaul and Spiti district.
