As per the MoU, police personnel would also be getting a guaranteed permanent and partial disability cover up to 50 lakh. Along with this, police personnel would also be getting a free education benefit up to Rs 4 lakh for their dependent child. The MoU also guarantees free life insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh, free personal accident death cover up to 12 lakh on debit card and free zero balance family account, having similar benefits of a primary account.
A cover of Rs 1 crore would also be insured to police personnel in case of an international air accident under the international air accident death cover.
Speaking about the MoU, the DGP said, “The state police is committed towards welfare and well-being of the police personnel. Taking steps in this direction, the Police Department has decided to renew its MoU with the HDFC Bank. This continued collaboration with the bank will ensure that our police personnel get enhanced financial support as well as other banking services.”
He further said, “Police personnel work day and night to serve the people. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure their financial security, financial stability as well as their dignity. This step will ensure all such benefits to the police personnel, thus empowering them.”
