Chairing a meeting of senior Health Department officers, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu directed that a committee be constituted under Health Secretary Ashish Singhmar to identify suitable space within the IGMC premises for the proposed facility.
The CM said the government aims to provide world-class healthcare services under one roof. He also sought suggestions to ensure zero waiting time for diagnostic services in medical colleges.
Sukhu said the government is installing advanced equipment in health institutions and ensuring adequate staffing to improve patient care. “Upgrading diagnostic systems is crucial for accurate diagnosis and better treatment outcomes,” he said.
He added that the government is filling vacancies of medical, paramedical and technical staff across institutions. “Health and education are top priorities and there is no shortage of funds for these sectors. The government is undertaking major reforms to strengthen both,” he said.
Health Special Secretary Jatender Sanjta and other senior officials were present at the meeting.
