The dispute between the two revolves around decisions taken in connection with the Chester Hills project in Solan. In a media statement issued a couple of months back, Baldi had alleged that Gupta, the then Chief Secretary, issued orders beyond his jurisdiction in the Chester Hills project. On May 30, Gupta lodged a complaint with the police alleging that Baldi made false, malicious and defamatory allegations against him.
Baldi, however, maintains that his press statement was based on facts and documentary evidence. In a press statement issued today, he reiterated that Gupta passed orders beyond his jurisdiction in the matter. He further alleged that Gupta passed wrong orders as Division Commissioner Kangra as well way back in 2011. Baldi alleged that Gupta misused his official position to file a false FIR just to divert attention from his illegal orders passed in the Chester Hills project.
