Warning of strict consequences, Kumar said any act going against the party’s interests would not be tolerated. He underscored that the organisation remains supreme and its decisions are binding on all members.
The party is currently dealing with rebel candidates in two Municipal Corporations, Mandi and Solan, while Dharamsala and Palampur remain unaffected by internal dissent. In contrast, the BJP is facing a broader rebellion, with dissidents contesting in all four Municipal Corporations. Solan, in particular, has emerged as a hotspot, with as many as 10 rebel candidates in the fray. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is May 6.
Meanwhile, Kumar announced that party workers demonstrating exceptional performance during the elections would be formally recognised. Polling for municipal corporations and other urban local bodies is scheduled for May 17, while Panchayati Raj Institution elections will be conducted in three phases on May 26, 28 and 30
Kumar also called on party workers to discharge their responsibilities with honesty and commitment, adding that a centralised election war room at the party headquarters will closely monitor activities and provide regular updates.
