Himachal CM Sukhu rolls out Rs 51-crore development push in Kasumpti

The Chief Minister laid the foundation stones for three key road projects aimed at strengthening rural connectivity. These include the Fagu-Dharech road to be built at a cost of Rs 15.23 crore, the Dharech-Chatog via Manda road costing Rs 7.85 crore, and the Darn-Jubbar road estimated at Rs 4.81 crore. He also inaugurated the Cheog Bypass Road, constructed at a cost of Rs 2.85 crore.

In a significant step towards clean energy, Sukhu inaugurated a 500 KW solar power project at Dharech gram panchayat, declaring it the state’s first “Green Panchayat”. Built at an approximate cost of Rs 1.94 crore, the project began in January 2025 and was connected to the grid on March 30, 2026. It is generating around 3,000 units of electricity daily, with an estimated annual output of nearly eight lakh units.

Under an agreement, the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited will procure the electricity at Rs 3.50 per unit. The Chief Minister said this would ensure a steady annual income of about Rs 28 lakh for the gram panchayat, strengthening its financial sustainability.

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for dedicating multiple projects to the region. During the visit, Sukhu also paid obeisance at the Jai Ishwari Mata Temple and announced Rs 1 crore for the beautification of the temple complex.
