Kangra DC inspected arrangements from the university auditorium to the helipad site. He later held a meeting with university authorities and district officials to ensure coordination for the event.
Officials from several departments attended the meeting, which lasted several hours on Friday evening. The DC directed Public Works Department to immediately repair roads leading to the venue and helipad.
During the inspection, he reviewed security and traffic plans and told departments to work closely with the university administration. He also ordered removal of stones and debris from open grounds near the venue, along with arrangements for water supply, uninterrupted power, and sanitation.
He told departments to complete all work on time and said no negligence would be tolerated given the importance of the visit.
Sources said the district administration, police, and university officials are coordinating arrangements at multiple levels. Security agencies are expected to make more visits in the coming days to finalise protocols.
The President’s expected presence at the convocation has generated excitement in the region. It would be a landmark occasion for the university and a matter of pride for Himachal Pradesh.
