Heavy rain to continue in Himachal Pradesh; yellow alert issued for four districts for May 6

As per the department, weather on Wednesday will remain dry in plains and low hills of the state while light precipitation will continue in mid and high hills of the state.

Also, light to moderate thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds will be witnessed in the four districts for which a yellow alert has been issued.

The department has also forecasted light rainfall in middle and higher hills of the state till May 7, after which weather will remain dry across the state on May 8 and 9.

However, the state will again be witnessing another spell of heavy rainfall from May 10 onwards as a result of a fresh Western Disturbance, which is very likely to affect the Western Himalayan Region from May 10 onwards.

Also, minimum temperature across the state will rise by 2°C to 7°C, while maximum temperature will rise by 3°C to 10°C in the next few days.

Meanwhile, light rainfall continued to occur in many parts of the state during the past 24 hours. Dharamshala received 30.6 mm rain which was the highest in the state. Also Kangra received 29.4 mm, Shimla 18 mm, Palampur 15.4 mm, Rohru in Shimla district 14 mm, Mandi 13.4 mm, Kalpa 7.2 mm and Solan 5.2 mm rain.

Minimum temperatures in the state during the last 24 hours were down by 2°C to 8°C, ranging between 3°C to 21°C. Similarly, maximum temperatures were also down by 3°C to 10°C and ranged between 15°C to 34°C.

Maximum temperature in Shimla was 19.5°C, Dharamshala 25°C, Manali 17.2°C, Kangra 29.3°C, Mandi 27.2°C, Solan 26°C, Sundernagar 27.8°C, Nahan 27.9°C and Bhuntar 23.5°C.

With 34.6°C minimum temperatures, Una was the hottest place in the state while Kalpa in Kinnaur was the coldest as it recorded 2.6°C minimum temperature.
