The Governor made these remarks during a meeting with Akhil Bharatiya Kalakar Sangh president and noted actor Rohitashv Gour and vice-president Rekha Gour at Raj Bhavan.
During the meeting, Rohitashv Gour briefed the Governor about the activities of the organisation and informed him about the commencement of the 71st Annual All India Drama and Dance Competition, which is being held in Shimla till June 10.
He said the prestigious cultural event would witness participation from thousands of artists from across the country.
“A total of 27 theatre groups will stage dramatic performances, while around 260 dance presentations will be showcased during the competition, reflecting the rich diversity of India’s artistic and cultural traditions,” Gour said.
The Governor appreciated the organisation’s efforts in promoting theatre, dance and cultural heritage through one of the country’s longest-running national-level cultural events.
He said art and culture play a vital role in preserving the nation’s rich traditions, strengthening social harmony and inspiring creativity among the younger generation.
Expressing confidence in the success of the event, the Governor said the competition would contribute significantly to promoting performing arts and further strengthening the cultural fabric of the country.
