He was interacting with 15 probationers of the Himachal Pradesh Administrative Services (HAS) Batch of 2025, currently undergoing professional training at the Dr Manmohan Singh Institute of Public Administration in Shimla.
Encouraging them to uphold the highest standards of integrity, dedication and public service, the Governor emphasised the critical role of civil servants in strengthening governance and ensuring efficient delivery of public services.
He urged the officers to remain committed to transparency, accountability and ethical conduct, while adopting a people-centric approach, particularly for those in remote and underserved areas. He also called on them to act as catalysts of change, noting that proactive and responsive administration is key to improving citizens’ quality of life.
The Governor further stressed the importance of innovation, technology-driven governance and continuous capacity building to tackle emerging challenges. Referring to concerns such as drug abuse, climate change and the promotion of organic farming, he called for proactive measures, greater awareness and sustainable grassroots solutions.
Emphasising the potential of Himachal, he encouraged young officers to drive growth in sectors such as agriculture, tourism and sustainable development. He reminded them that public expectations from civil servants are high and urged them to work with a spirit of teamwork, guided by the idea that “Together We Can Achieve More.”
Expressing confidence in the trainee officers, the Governor said their sincerity and dedication would go a long way in strengthening administrative efficiency and public trust.
