According to reports from various parts of Palampur region, there has been a noticeable surge in cases of allergic conjunctivitis and dry eyes. Doctors say that prolonged exposure to sunlight and hot winds is affecting people’s eye health significantly.
Medical experts explain that dry air and dust particles are leading to increased dryness in eyes, which in turn is causing irritation and redness. Patients are particularly experiencing discomfort during the afternoon hours, when the heat is at its peak.
Dr Sandeep Mahajan, a leading eye surgeon, advised people to avoid self-medication and instead consult specialists if symptoms persist. He emphasised the importance of drinking plenty of water to prevent dehydration, which can further aggravate eye problems. Authorities are urging the public to stay hydrated, limit outdoor exposure during peak heat hours and seek timely medical advice.
