Prof Bawa said that Chandigarh University was continuing to be a top choice of recruiters, as more than 1,300 of them had offered over 10,000 jobs to students in 2025. He added that the university had set a new benchmark by its students securing an international package of Rs 1.7 crore and a national package of Rs 59.9 lakh per annum. Major recruiters such as Microsoft offered the highest package, followed by Amazon and Atlassian.
He said six companies had offered salary packages of Rs 35 lakh and above, 10 companies Rs 30 lakh and above, while 20 companies offered Rs 25 lakh. The average salary package secured by the university students was nearly Rs 7 lakh. Prof Bawa said that over 668 students from Himachal Pradesh had received job offers from top multi-national companies (MNCs) and Indian companies in 2025 and 54 of them were from Hamirpur district. He added, “Anshika Thakur, an MBA student from Hamirpur, got a job at IPV Advisors Pvt Ltd. Aayush Thakur, an MCA student, secured a job in Times Internet (Times of India), Namita Sharma was hired by BloomchemAG Pvt. Ltd while Saurabh Thakur secured a job in Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).” He said that scholarships to the tune of Rs 250 crore were awarded to students on merit prepared through a common entrance test conducted by the university.
He added that to support meritorious and financially weaker students, the university offered up to 100 per cent scholarship as academic fee waiver. He urged students to participate in PUCET for almost free education at the university.
