Chairing a district-level review meeting, Dr Guleri reviewed the progress of various schemes and national health programmes being implemented by the Health Department. He sought detailed information from officials regarding the present status, achievements and challenges being faced in execution of the programmes.
Special emphasis was laid on the progress of the National Health Mission, maternal and child healthcare programmes, immunisation campaigns and initiatives related to prevention and control of non-communicable diseases. Dr Guleri said continuous improvement in the quality of healthcare services remained the department’s priority and called upon all officers to work with dedication and commitment.
He directed officials to ensure that no eligible child is left out under the HPV vaccination campaign. He also stressed the need for early registration of pregnant women to ensure timely healthcare support and monitoring.
The Deputy Director instructed the officials to spread awareness among women regarding the benefits of family planning and ensure that benefits under the Janani Suraksha Yojana reach every eligible beneficiary. He also directed that ASHA workers must complete all seven mandatory visits under the home-based newborn care programme to strengthen neonatal healthcare services.
During the meeting, concern was expressed over malnutrition among children and anaemia among women, with officials asked to focus on awareness and preventive measures.
