The initiative aimed to promote awareness about key MSME schemes, with a special focus on the National SC-ST Hub (NSSH). It sought to encourage both aspiring and existing entrepreneurs from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities to leverage government support and contribute towards the mandated 4 per cent procurement target under the Public Procurement Policy.
Participants were sensitised about the importance of formalising enterprises through registration on the Udyam portal. Existing entrepreneurs received detailed guidance on vendor registration processes, documentation requirements, procurement practices of Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), and participation in e-tendering. Sessions also covered access to credit, subsidy schemes and financial assistance available through banks to support business expansion.
More than 100 entrepreneurs from Kangra district and nearby regions attended the programme.
Prof Kuldeep Attri, Director of the HP University Regional Centre, Dharamsala, attended as the chief guest. Other dignitaries included Colonel Anil Kumar Saunkhla, Director, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Ranbir Prithvi, Lead District Manager.
Surya Bhushan, Branch In-charge of the National SC-ST Hub, Ludhiana, outlined the objectives of the initiative and highlighted procurement provisions for SC/ST and women-led enterprises.
The programme also enabled direct interaction between entrepreneurs and stakeholders, including CPSEs, financial institutions and MSME support agencies, fostering stronger industry linkages.
