Boox has unveiled the Go 6 (Gen II), a 6-inch e-reader that now supports note-taking with the InkSense Plus stylus. It runs Android 11, offers access to Kindle and Kobo apps, and includes 32GB expandable storage.

Boox has announced the second generation of its compact Go 6 e-reader, adding note-taking capabilities to its feature set. The new Go 6 (Gen II) retains the 6-inch, 300PPI E Ink display of its predecessor but upgrades RAM from 2GB to 3GB and introduces support for the InkSense Plus stylus, enabling sketching, document annotation, and handwritten notes.

Key Points

  • 6-inch E Ink screen with 300PPI resolution
  • 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage (expandable via microSD)
  • Runs Android 11 with Google Play Store access
  • Supports Boox InkSense Plus stylus for note-taking
  • Preorder price: $199.99; ships June 17

Pricing and Availability

The Boox Go 6 (Gen II) is available for preorder at $199.99, with shipping expected to begin on June 17. The InkSense Plus stylus is sold separately for $45.99, or can be bundled with the e-reader for $232.99. This positions it above entry-level models like the Amazon Kindle and Kobo Clara BW, but offers additional versatility.

Android Ecosystem and App Support

A key differentiator is the device's Android 11 operating system, which provides access to the Google Play Store. Users can install Amazon Kindle and Kobo apps, effectively combining both ebook ecosystems in one device. The writing experience may not match dedicated note-taking devices like the Remarkable Paper Pro Move, but Android allows a wide choice of note-taking apps and flexible syncing options.

Battery and Storage

The e-reader includes a 1,500mAh battery rated for weeks of use, along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. It comes with 32GB of built-in storage, expandable via microSD card—a feature not commonly found in competing e-readers. The screen also offers color temperature adjustment for comfortable reading in various lighting conditions.
