The list was released by state BJP president Rajeev Bindal from the party’s state headquarters. According to the party, candidates have been fielded across multiple wards, covering general, women and Scheduled Caste-reserved categories. The list includes a mix of experienced leaders and new entrants.
In the reserved category, the BJP has nominated Virender Arya (Sanyard, SC), Gurbachan Singh (Behna, SC), Reeta Devi (Dhaundhi, SC woman), Neha Kumari (Suhra, SC woman), Rajni Sharma (Thanehra, woman), Gurdeep Kaur (Palace Colony-1, woman), Krishna Thakur (Mangwain, woman), Manju Devi (Nela, woman), Nirmal Verma (Paddal, woman) and Sarita Handa (Purani Mandi, woman).
For unreserved seats, the party has fielded Ranveer Singh (Khaliyar), Jitender Singh (Talyahar), Suman Thakur (Palace Colony), Jitender Sharma (Samkhetar) and Gagan Kashyap (Bhagwahan).
Of the 15 candidates, four are sitting councillors of the Mandi Municipal Corporation. Party leaders said the list was finalised after consultations with local units and feedback from the grassroots to ensure strong representation in the civic body.
Meanwhile, the Indian National Congress is yet to release its list of candidates. Sources indicated that discussions are still underway within the party’s state leadership regarding final nominations.
