According to the university spokesperson, the centre of excellence is a one of a kind initiative in the region. The facility will provide students with hands-on training in artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, data science, natural language processing (NLP), Python programming, automation and other emerging technologies.
The spokesperson said students would also gain opportunities to work on live projects, participate in research activities, undertake internships, receive industry exposure and develop start-up ventures. The collaboration is expected to contribute towards the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047” by equipping young people with advanced technological skills.
Chancellor Vivek Singh said the university had decided to integrate AI and Python-based modules into nearly all academic programmes. Students from diverse disciplines, including law, pharmacy, agriculture, management, engineering, computer applications and sciences, would also benefit from the initiative. “Artificial intelligence and robotics are among the most transformative technologies of the future. The university aims to provide world-class technical training to the youth of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab. This initiative will strengthen students’ skill development, placement opportunities, research capabilities and industry engagement,” he asserted.
