State-wide crackdown results in arrest of 11 drug traffickers, aimed at protecting youth from addiction and creating a safer society.
The Himachal Pradesh Police has launched a successful operation to curb drugs, arresting 11 notorious drug traffickers during the state-wide crackdown. The arrests were part of the ongoing ‘Chitta-Free Himachal’ campaign initiated by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on November 15, 2025.
So far, as many as 187 repeat drug offenders have been apprehended under the act. Director General of Police (DGP) Ashok Tewari assured that the police will continue to take strict legal action against those involved in supplying drugs to young people and dismantling criminal networks.
The DGP emphasized that his primary goal is not just to arrest drug traffickers, but to protect the youth from falling into the trap of addiction. By doing so, he aims to create a safer society and achieve the ultimate objective of a drug-free Himachal Pradesh.
Tewari urged residents to report any information related to drug trafficking immediately, ensuring that no such activities go unchecked in the state.
