The deceased, identified as Bansh, had gone to the rivulet along with his friends Akash and Surjeet in the afternoon. According to preliminary information, he accidentally slipped into a deep portion of the stream and drowned.His friends raised an alarm, following which local residents rushed to the spot and pulled him out of the water. He was immediately taken to the Civil Hospital, Jawali, where doctors declared him dead.Sources said the deceased and his friends had earlier gone to Kharota in Jawali in his father’s car to obtain an LPG refill from a gas agency. After failing to get the refill, they proceeded to the nearby rivulet and began bathing, during which the mishap occurred.Police reached the spot and recorded the statements of the two friends who were present at the time of the incident.
