Further updates will be shared as rescue arrangements progress.The incident has once again highlighted the risks associated with high-altitude trekking in the Himalayas, particularly on demanding routes such as the Deo Tibba trek, which passes through remote terrain, glaciers and rapidly changing weather conditions.Kullu and Manali have witnessed several challenging rescue operations in recent years.In 2022, four mountaineers from West Bengal who went missing while attempting Mt Ali Ratni Tibba near Malana were traced and rescued after an intensive multi-agency search involving the district administration, the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (ABVIMAS), disaster management teams and Indian Air Force helicopters.The rescue operation underscored the difficulties of locating trekkers in remote mountainous regions and the importance of prior registration with authorities.Similarly, in 2016, eight trekkers stranded near Chanderkhani Pass due to heavy snowfall and adverse weather were rescued after a prolonged operation involving the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), local administration and helicopter support.The incident prompted the Kullu administration to strengthen safety protocols and require trekking operators to share expedition details with authorities before undertaking high-altitude journeys.In view of the latest incident, officials have advised trekkers to obtain necessary permissions, register their itineraries with local authorities, monitor weather forecasts closely and avoid venturing into remote areas without experienced guides.Authorities also recommend carrying satellite communication devices or emergency beacons where possible, adequate medical supplies, warm clothing, food reserves and navigation equipment.Adventure experts caution that weather in the higher reaches of Kullu can change abruptly, increasing the risk of injuries, disorientation and exposure.Trekkers are urged not to travel alone, inform family members of their route and turnaround plans and immediately report emergencies to local authorities.The administration has appealed to visitors to prioritize safety and follow established trekking guidelines to prevent avoidable emergencies in the mountains.The Baisakhi Sale Plan offers an excellent value of 2 years of subscription + 6 months complimentary.If you proceed with this purchase, your current monthly subscription plan will be immediately cancelled.
