Wild allegations: Himachal minister Chander Kumar condemns sons stand against govt

“It’s alright to express your resentment at an appropriate platform if you have some issues, but making wild allegations like collecting suitcases, keeping two here and sending three there are wrong. It is an attack on the government and doesn’t send out a right message,” he said.

Bharti had been making serious accusations against the government and its leaders on social media for some time. When he was issued a showcase notice by Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee president Vinay Sharma a few days back, he tendered his resignation as HPCC vice-president. His resignation was accepted on Friday.

Dissociating himself from the stand taken by his son, the minister said that Bharti could have sat down with the Chief Minster or the HPCC chief if he had any grievances instead of making wild allegation on social media. “Such acts don’t raise your political stature; they only raise questions about the party and the government,” the minister said.

Even as the minister has dismissed the accusations as wild allegations, the Opposition has latched on to them and is using them to target the government.
