The district received 203.4 mm rainfall against its normal average of 117.9 mm during the period. Despite above-normal rainfall in eight districts, the state as a whole recorded a 13 per cent rainfall deficit during the pre-monsoon season, receiving 208.6 mm precipitation against the normal 240.7 mm.
Una was the second wettest district, recording 171.4 mm rainfall against the normal 102.7 mm. Solan received 220.6 mm rainfall against 144.3 mm, registering a surplus of 53 per cent, while Sirmaur recorded 184.3 mm against 126.1 mm, a surplus of 46 per cent.
Shimla received 291.5 mm rainfall against its normal of 205.2 mm, registering a surplus of 42 per cent. Hamirpur recorded 173.6 mm against 130.3 mm, while Mandi received 253.4 mm against 192.4 mm, recording surpluses of 33 per cent and 32 per cent, respectively. Kangra received 219.8 mm rainfall against the normal 189 mm, registering a surplus of 16 per cent.
Kullu was the only district where rainfall remained almost exactly normal, recording 283.7 mm precipitation against the normal 283.6 mm.
Among districts that recorded rainfall deficits, Chamba received 257.5 mm rainfall against the normal 368.8 mm, registering a deficit of 30 per cent. Lahaul and Spiti recorded 153.6 mm rainfall against the normal 279 mm, a deficit of 45 per cent.
Kinnaur emerged as the driest district during the season, recording a 47 per cent rainfall deficit. The district received 131.6 mm rainfall against the normal 249.4 mm.
The weather office has forecast continued rainfall across the state till June 8. Yellow alerts have been issued for several districts between June 3 and June 6, warning of heavy thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds at isolated places.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall was recorded in many parts of the state during the past 24 hours. Minimum temperatures remained close to normal, while maximum temperatures were 2°C to 7°C above normal.
Shimla recorded a maximum temperature of 25°C, Dharamsala 31°C, Kangra 34.6°C, Solan 31.5°C, Mandi 35°C, Sundernagar 34.7°C, Kufri 19.5°C, Kalpa 21.4°C, Nahan 33.2°C, Keylong 22°C, Chamba 31.7°C and Bhuntar 34.2°C.
Una was the hottest place in the state with a maximum temperature of 37°C, while Kukumseri in Lahaul and Spiti was the coldest, recording a minimum temperature of 4.9°C.
