The event was inaugurated by Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel) SJVN Ltd, who planted a walnut sapling, in the presence of Pankaj Porwaal, ITES, Chief Vigilance Officer, SJVN. Additionally, personnel from 133 Eco Task Force, SJVN Ltd, and the Forest Department, actively participated in the programme, reaffirming their shared commitment towards afforestation and environmental stewardship.
Speaking about the campaign, Sharma said the drive focused on planting indigenous tree species to strengthen local biodiversity and promote environmental sustainability. “Simultaneously, awareness programmes were conducted to sensitise local communities to the importance of forest conservation and ecological restoration,” he said.
