As per the State’s Meteorological Centre, Una received 72.9 mm rainfall against 32.4 mm, making it the highest surplus rain in the state. Himachal Pradesh recorded an 18 per cent rain deficit as the state received 52.2 mm rainfall against 63.3 mm, which is considered normal rain in May. While seven districts received surplus rain, five districts in the state recorded less rain than normal.

Chamba received 40.7 mm rainfall against 98.5 mm, making it a 59 per cent rain deficit, highest in the state. Similarly, Lahaul and Spiti recorded 56 per cent rain deficit as it received 26.4 mm rainfall against 59.3 mm, Kinnaur recorded 39 per cent deficit as it received 35.4 mm rainfall against 57.6 mm, Solan recorded 25 per cent rain deficit as it recorded 36.9 mm rainfall against 49.3 mm and Kullu recorded 18 per cent deficit as it received 57.2 mm rainfall against 69.5 mm.

On the other hand, Mandi recorded 13 per cent surplus rain as it received 78.4 mm rainfall against 69.2 mm, Kangra 26 per cent as it recorded 69.4 mm rainfall against 55.1 mm and Hamirpur 33 per cent as it received 56.9 mm against 42.8 mm. Shimla and Sirmaur both recorded 47 per cent surplus rain as Shimla received 102.9 mm against 69.8 mm while Sirmaur recorded 62.6 mm against 42.5 mm.

Additionally, Bilaspur recorded 58 per cent surplus rain as it received 62.2 mm rainfall against 39.4 mm.

Meanwhile, rain is expected to continue across the state till June 6 with an intense spell on June 3 and 4, for which a yellow weather warning has also been issued by the centre. During this period, minimum temperatures are expected to rise by 4°C to 6°C in the next few days, while maximum temperatures are expected to fall by 2°C to 4°C.

Light to moderate rain continued to occur in isolated places of the state in the past 24 hours. The maximum temperature in Shimla was 21.6°C, Dharamsala 28°C, Kangra 29.2°C, Mandi 31.4°C, Sundernagar 20.3°C, Kufri 14.4°C, Kalpa 15.1°C, Nahan 26.4°C, Keylong 18.7°C, Chamba 29.4°C and Bhuntar 29.5°C.

The highest maximum temperature in the state was 33.4°C, which was recorded in Una, while the lowest minimum temperature across the state was 3.8°C which was recorded in Kukumseri village in Lahaul and Spiti district.
