The President arrived at around 7 pm and was received by Kavinder Gupta and Lady Governor Bindu Gupta, along with Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia. The Governor and the Lady Governor formally honoured the President at the Aditya Room, where she also interacted with members of the Governor’s family.
Later, the President attended the State Banquet at the Darbar Hall. Among those present were Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, Health Minister Dr (Col) Dhani Ram Shandil and Education Minister Rohit Thakur.
Judges of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, MP Dr Sikander Kumar, HPPSC Chairman Capt Rameshwar Singh, ARTRAC Chief Lt Gen S S Dahiya, Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta and DGP Ashok Tiwari were also in attendance, along with other senior officers and prominent citizens.
Meanwhile, the President’s proposed visit to the Atal Tunnel on April 29 has been cancelled due to inclement weather conditions.
