According to the schedule released by the commission, voting in Rohru and Narkanda will take place on May 22. Nominations will be filed on May 5, 6 and 7, with scrutiny on May 8. Candidates can withdraw their nominations until 3 pm on May 11. On the same day, election symbols will be allotted to contenders. Polling will begin at 7 am on May 22 and conclude at 3 pm, followed immediately by counting of votes and result declaration.
Following the release of the election programme for the two urban local bodies, the commission has now announced elections in 53 urban local bodies, including four municipal corporations. Elections in Rohru and Narkanda were delayed as the administration had not finalised the reservation roster. The commission is also expected to announce the schedule for Panchayati Raj Institutions over the next few days.
