Research Associate:

• Essential Qualifications:
  • Doctoral Degree in Biotechnology/Plant Molecular Biology/Plant Biochemistry/Genetics and Plant Breeding/Molecular Breeding/Life Sciences/Bioinformatics from a recognized Institute/University.
  • For Master’s degree holders: Master’s degree in the relevant subject (as mentioned above) with a 4/5 years Bachelor’s degree, having 1st division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average.
  • At least three years of research experience demonstrated through Fellowship/Associate ship/Training/other engagements, along with one research paper in Science Citation Index (SCI)/NAAS rated (24.0) Journal.
• Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience in genome editing/genetic transformation of plants.
  • Experience in gene cloning and expression analysis.
  • Experience in structural & functional genomics.
  • Experience in plant tissue culture/Protoplast isolation and handling.

Senior Research Fellow:

• Essential Qualifications:
  • Master Degree in Biotechnology/Plant Molecular Biology/Plant Biochemistry/Genetics and Plant Breeding/Molecular Breeding/Life Sciences/Bioinformatics from a recognized Institute/University with a 4/5 years Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Candidates with a Post-graduate degree in Basic Sciences, a 3-year Bachelor’s degree, and a 2-year Master’s degree should have NET qualifications and 2 years of research experience as per ICAR and DST guidelines.
• Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience in genome editing/genetic transformation of plants.
  • Experience in gene cloning and expression analysis.
  • Experience in structural & functional genomics.
  • Experience in plant tissue culture/Protoplast isolation and handling.

The Institute is located at Bemloe, approximately 2 km from the Main Bus stand (Old), 3 km from the Railway Station, and about 5 km from ISBT (Tutikandi), Shimla.
