2 arrested with 41 grams of heroin in Shimla

In the first case, one person was arrested with 36.05 g of chitta from Sanjauli in Shimla.

According to police, a Special Cell team of the district police was patrolling in the Dhalli area during which the team received a tip-off that an individual who was present near the Dhalli tunnel area was carrying the contraband of heroin.

Acting on the information, the police team stopped the said individual named Rubbal Jadaik (32), resident of village Pandrog village in Kotkhai Tehsil, district Shimla for checking.

They seized the contraband from his possession, kept inside a plastic pouch in his bag. He was immediately arrested.

In another case registered, another person who was on his way to Shimla from Chandigarh was arrested with 5.37 g chitta near Sankat Mochan.

The accused Hritik Thakur (26), resident of Chind village in Kupvi Tehsil, here, was travelling in a taxi when he was stopped for checking by the police. During the checking, police found the contraband from his possession after which he was arrested.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Shimla, Gaurav Singh confirmed the report and said cases under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985 have been registered against the accused and further investigation is going on.
